Gary Baker at the blogcritics talked about the new program being offered at MySpace called MySpace Film, an online tool for indie filmmakers.
a
Here are a couple of comments he made:
a
“The new film section includes featured indie filmmakers, upcoming film festivals, a bulletin board where members can post screenings of their movies, a filmmaker discussion forum, and a classifieds page where members look for crew, equipment, and collaboration.”
a
“According to Michael Wang for Show Business Weekly, MySpace already hosts hundreds of filmmakers and their short projects, and will become a great forum for directors and animators looking to bring their films to a young, eager audience.”
When I checked it out there were close to 8,000 members already signed up for the service. The site itself was put together well, and for an entertainment site didn’t load too slowly.
It does really look like those who have some talent in film will have some good opportunities to show it off here and get some needed publicity.
a
If you are a small-budget filmmaker who desires for their work to be seen this offers an excellent opportunity to show off your stuff.
a
There were already close to 2,500 trailers, sneak previews and teasers listed that could be viewed. Some of them had been watched in the thousands of times, so it looks like there are some real chances at decent exposure, and it’s just getting started.
