With the direct-to-video concept becoming more known and used as a tool by Hollywood, it is now going to a new level, going beyond the sequel stage, into full-blown branded video premieres.
Warner Home Video senior vp theatrical catalog Jeff Baker says that one new series will be "a little bit Alfred Hitchcock meets 'The Twilight Zone."' The "Raw Feed" series will present films that will be the edgy type of thrillers brought to the big screen.
The first film that will be produced by Warner will be called "Rest Stop," which will tell the story of a young couple being terrorized while traveling across the country. Production on it begins Monday. John Shiban is the writer of the story who also is the co-executive who produces the WB Network's "Supernatural."
