Once the most magnificent pop diva of them all, Whitney Houston, is literally on the verge of running out of money. Some that are close to here say that she is in reality, completely broke, with no income coming in and gargantuan bills.
Evidently her life is so out of control that her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, is living with her brother and sister-in-law.
According to a Fox News report it gets even worse:
"A local Atlanta lawyer told me yesterday that he recently had housemates Whitney and ‘80s pop star Cherelle (real name Cheryl Week Norton) evicted from the luxury townhouse he’d rented to the latter last fall. Houston’s name was not on the lease, but the landlord says she was living there and has witnesses to back him up.
"Now the landlord says he’s about to sue both women for about $17,000 in back rent and about $8,000 in damages for the mess they left behind. That includes carpets and furniture ruined by burn marks and broken windows. The papers will be filed shortly, he tells me."
I do appreciate the sensitivity of the writer of this article Roger Friedman as he says "Sometimes -- let’s face it -- we have fun tweaking the stars. But that’s not the case with Whitney Houston."
He goes on to mention that he has known her quite well for over 15 years and at one time was a very beautiful woman with the greatest voice in the world.
But in the case of Whitney Houston not only is she struggling financially and at home, but even those close to her are selling her out. Her sister-in-law, Tina Brown (not the journalist) sold ugly stories to the "National Enquirer" and "UK Sun" which is a tabloid, which included pictures suggesting that Houston was terribly abusing drugs. Reports are that she may receive up to $200,000 for the story and may have been prompted by Bobby, Tina's brother who is Houston's husband, because he needed cash.
According to insiders Whitney's biggest problem is that she is generous beyond what she is able to produce. She has tried to take care of her and her husband's family, and they have all "sponged" off of her. Now the ones that really know her say that she truly is broke.
Some of her friends are even saying that they fear for her life, which is more troubling because it seems nobody out there wants to try to help her.
Next post we'll look at the financial mistakes made and strategies that could have kept her out of this problem.
