A group in Korea has applied for a provisional injunction to halt the release of a movie version of the novel The Da Vinci Code.
The Christian Council of Korea filed the application in Seoul in response to what they called "an insult and defamation" of the holiness of Jesus Christ and the Bible.
According to Screen International it was filed against the film's distributor Sony Pictures.
The premise of the book is that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had a child and that that lineage goes on until this day.
The Christian Council of Korea also said they "concerned about the damage that would be caused to individuals' faith" because of the content of the film.
As of now it is scheduled to be released in Korea next month after the Cannes festival on May 17. The picture has Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou as leads and is directed by Ron Howard.
