At a recent auction, the schoolbook of rock legend John Lennon was bid up to $227,000. It included some of his earliest thoughts recorded, along with poems and drawings.
The document itself was a simple red 10-page exercise book which had the tite "My Anthology" written on it. It is dated to when he was 10 years old. It has an illustration of a walrus in it that was based upon Lewis Carroll's poem called "The Walrus and the Carpenter."
Lennon later revealed that the Beatles' 1967 song "I am the Walrus", was based upon and inspired by the poem.
Lennon's engraved silver christening bracelet, which is the earliest piece of Lennon memorabilia known, sold at the respectable price of 27,000 pounds.
The log of a trip to Bermuda by Lennon in 1980 brought another 12,000 pounds.
