In an interesting interview with SF Gate's Green, Daryl Hannah talks about going around and outside of traditional media outlets to proclaim her message. She feels that it is a necessary thing as in her view the mainstream media is ignoring what is important to her. Her choice of media is a video blog (Daryl Hannah's Love Live) and some indie documentaries to reveal what's going on concerning green lifestyles and activism.
This is truly telling as she also notices and realizes that the media in general is wrapping itself around irrelevance and so with the increasingly powerful new tools that are being created and introduced to the population, she is able to produce what she is passionate about.
This is a great example of the power that is increasingly being introduced to all of us if we understand the opportunity before us.
No matter what the mainstream media wants to focus upon, their days of deciding what we are going to watch, see or produce are over. They'll either have to adapt or they will increasingly become marginalized.
