Kim Flowers who has been part of the entertainment industry since she was a child has been successful at taking that experience and applying it into operating the Las Vegas John Robert Powers acting and modeling school, a franchise that she started in 1995.
Her passion for helping others to become successful - led the former professional model, actress, singer and dancer to get invovled with the John Robert Powers system, which has now grown to 80 franchises around the world.
What has particularly moved her to get involved is she would come across kids that were always told that they would never succeed in life. So she began to donate her time and to teach them to feel good about themselves, based upon the belief that if you are given the right tools and knowledge you can make something of yourself.
Flowers says that her positive outlook on life is what helps her to succeed.
"You have to be very positive in business and in everyday life — think big and dream big," she said, adding that small-business owners must also be passionate about their profession and constantly self-evaluate in order to find ways for improvement. "Be willing to try new things because what worked yesterday might not work today. Be prepared, don't get so bogged down with day-to-day. Hold meetings with your staff and celebrate the great things that happen and evaluate where you have pitfalls. Trust your instincts and allow yourself to enjoy where you've been."
She said that above all you've got to believe in yourself.
