Blanco, the white andalusian horse, a Spanish breed of horse known for athleticism, intelligence and ability to work with people, made famous as Gandalf's ride Shadowfax in Lord of the Rings and the Hercules series, is now involved in a new career in America.
He is being trained to perform in equestrian shows, according to the Potomac News.
Cynthia Royal, of Sudley Springs, Virginia, is the new owner. She is training him is what is called tackless riding - without the saddle - among a number of other tricks.

"I've always liked trick training," Royal said. "I've been riding since before I could walk. "I couldn't afford Blanco, but he (movie trainer Wayne McCormack) made me a deal I couldn't pass up." She added that usually a horse like Blanco would cost $US100,000 ($NZ160,000). She refused to reveal how much she paid, only replying that she covered the $US10,000 it cost to fly the horse from New Zealand.
Royal said that after the shows that are planned by McCormack, Blanco will more than likely return to work in movies.
