
The experiment by ABC TV shows begun just a short two weeks ago to offer on-demand TV shows online, has already received around 3 million viewers according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The shows offered by Disney appear approximately 12 hours after they are broadcast on television. The shows, which include "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" give a good indication of what the higher quality shows will do, it will be interesting what happens when they roll out their shows that aren't quite as popular.
Currently they are offered for free with a 10-second commercial before the show and 3 more added during program breaks. The viewers are given an option of watching the ads or clicking through them to get right back to the show.
Along with their ad-sponsored programs on ABC.com, Disney is also selling top-rated shows that are free of ads on Apple Computer's iTunes online store.
