Proving that it is able to get big numbers for its download service (over 30 million), Apple (AAPL) iTunes scored another big deal as it worked out an agreement with CBS to sell downloads of some of their best shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Survivor, NCIS, and Numb3rs.
Not only will the deal include episodes from the 2005/2006 season, but some of the series will include previous seasons as well. Next season it will offer the shows the day after they are broadcast on the networks.
Larry Kramer, president, CBS (CBS-A) Digital Media, said in a statement "iTunes has proven that people enjoy viewing shows on their computer or iPod, which provides an opportunity to reach new audiences with our hit shows and gives our existing viewers a chance to catch up on missed episodes."
With this deal completed, Apple now has over 100 TV shows from 4 major networks. A lot of them are some of the most popular shows on television.
