Billy Preston, the outgoing keyboardist who had hit singles "Outta Space" and "Nothing From Nothing," along with working for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. died Tuesday at 59.
Preston, who has been in a coma since November, was taken to a hospital Saturday as his condition worsened, according to his manager Joyce Moore.
Moore said "He had a very, very beautiful last few hours and a really beautiful passing, he went home good."
Known for his friendly smile and huge afro, Preston became a teen wonder playing the piano and organ. He added his skill to the Beatles hit "Get Back" and the Stones' "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?"
