British businesses are threatened with fines of up to £1,000 if they allow their workers to watch the World Cup on their Internet broadband connections if they don't have a TV license.
"The BBC can only show live video from matches broadcast on its television channels, which means England's next two games will only be available in audio online. The BBC is streaming more than 50 hours of World Cup football to UK internet users."
It is estimated that five million UK workers have access to broadband at work.
"It doesn't matter how you're watching, if you are watching a live match you will need a licence," said a TV Licensing spokesperson.
It seems odd to me that now managers and business owners have to police their workers on behalf of the entertainment and sports industry.
Is it now the major concern of business managers to spend their valuable time on this?
