
Sony BMG has revealed that the first releases for their Blu-ray Disc's will be Rod Stewart: Live at Royal Albert Hall and John Legend: Live at the House of Blues. The two are scheduled to be released this summer right after the first Blu-ray players from Samsung, are sent in late June.
The original video for the two titles was show in high-definition, which makes them great options for the Blu-ray optical disc format.
Thomas Hesse, president of Sony (SNE) BMG Music Entertainment’s Global Digital Business unit said “These dynamic concerts from John Legend and Rod Stewart have all of the immediacy and excitement of a live performance, giving fans high-definition video and uncompressed sound for an extraordinary entertainment experience.”
The Steward disc will include live performances of his classic "Maggie May" and "Stay With Me," also songs from Stewart's“Great American Songbook” and some extra documentary footage.
“John Legend, Live at the House of Blues” includes exclusive live video of the artist performing such songs as “Let’s Get Lifted” and “Ordinary People.” The video features guest performances by Kanye West and Snoop Dog, behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with Legend.
