The Fader magazine, popular voice of the emerging music scene, announced that it is going to offer its entire "Summer Music Issue" free as an iTunes download - the first time iTunes has offered an entire magazine available for download. The download is ad-sponsored by Southern Comfort.
Andy Cohn, publisher of the Fader said "The print magazine will always be our focus, but this is an incredibly unique opportunity to reach a whole new audience and bring additional attention to the artists that we're covering, by partnering with us on the project, Southern Comfort continues to show its support for emerging artists and its forward-thinking approach to unique marketing."
The issue will also be featured in iTunes' "New and Notable" podcast section, and is available at http://www.thefader.com/podcasts.
Whether you like the specific music presented my The Fader, I do like their stretch and move to offer the magazine in this way. It does give a look at what some of the future world of media will be.
