Walt Disney Co. (DIS) has signed an agreement with Turkish broadcaster TRT to provide an animation and live-action movie package along with children's programming.
While there are no specific numbers for the deal, it has been revealed that it is the largest agreement signed between Disney and TRT to date.
Some of the products included in the deal according to Variety.com are Pixar's "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo" and "A Bug's Life" as well as Disney's "Pocahontas" and "Brother Bear." Classic movies include "Mary Poppins," "Dumbo" and "Alice in Wonderland."
"In addition, the Playhouse Disney preschool series "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Little Einsteins" will receive their Turkish TV premiere."
We are going to see a lot more of this as the U.S. domestic market is stalling or shrinking while the overseas market is the area of growth for the industry.
