In a television interview, J.K. Rowling revealed that in her final installment of Harry Potter two main characters will die, and coyly hinted it could possibly even be Harry himself.
When she was asked about whether one of those fatalities would be Potter, she said that she had never been tempted to kill off Harry until the final book.
She said she wouldn't say specifically what Potter's fate would be, telling the interviewers that "I don't want the hate mail, apart from anything else."
Her first six books of the series have sold over 300 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 63 languages. The first four have already been tremendously successful movies.
She added that she is making great progress on her way to finishing up the seventh and final book of the series saying, "I wrote the final chapter in something like 1990, so I've known exactly how the series is going to end."
