HBO leads all major networks in Primetime Emmy Award nominations with 95 total. Their hit "The Sopranos" received 7 nominations by itself.
Following in second place was ABC with 64 nominations with their hit show "Grey's Anatomy" taking in 11 nominations. CBS and NBC came in third and forth with only one vote separating them as CBS received 47 votes and NBC 46. Fox came in fifth place with 41 nominations.
While the winners of the Emmys receive prestige, there is really not much financial benefit to them. Occasionally a show may get watched and receive a little more viewership from winning and possibly make a little more from the raised rates of advertising from the increased viewership. This doesn't happen very often though.
The Primetime Emmy Awards will be shown on August 27 on NBC.
