Mary Mcnamara, writing for therecord.com, makes some assumptions that will be a chance to learn from.
Here are some of her comments in the article: "Some years back, a commitment from an A-lister -- actors or directors whose track records proved they could deliver at the box office -- usually guaranteed a big-budget project would get a green light. "But now, that is not enough, say filmmakers."
One of the biggest cons of Hollywood is included in her comments, and that is that there are actors and directors that have proven track records. Now the part about people being celebrity actor and directors being given green lights for projects would be more accurate.
Go to any history that lists actors and directors and you will see no continuity whatsoever between projects. One time they'll get a hit and the next time they'll bomb. I have records of these people and the projects they participated in and the statistics would shock you.
What's important about this? Who are these suckers that are "dazzled" into putting money into one of the worse possible investments in the world? Why is there a pretense of continuity of certain actors and directors?
Don't believe me? Go and check out any director and actor and the statistics concerning their work. Even the very best have a very low success ratio.
Today the only ones that have shown any continuity at all are Pixar and their animated successes and Tyler Perry who probably has to produce a couple of more successes to show he knows what it takes. I hope Perry doesn't get caught up with being offered more money than he's used to and creates inferior products.
As former Twentieth Century Fox studio head Bill Mechanic about the direction studios are taking, "The studios are leaning more on the producers, because they are suddenly remembering that they are in the business to make money."
After decades of this pattern, I would think they would learn they are in it to make money.

This note is for Mr.Tyler Perry. I would like to discuss investing in any project you may have.
