
With their self-titled album, Danity Kane, debuted in first place on The Billboard 200, according to the site. Nielsen SoundScan reported that they sold 234,000 units in the U.S. alone. This makes the seventh No. 1 album that Bad Boy Records has produced.
Danity Kane were the winners of the 2005 MTV production "Making the Band 3."
Coming in at No. 2 was the group OutKast, with their soundtrack from the movie "Idlewild." It sold 196,000 albums.
"Back to Basics" by Christina Aguilera dropped to third place with a total of 135,000, dropping by 61%.

In a new record for the Billboard 200, Mana, a Mexican rock group, broke the record by becoming the highest debut for a Spanish-language album, with sales of 87,000 - to come in fourth place for the week. It is first in the Top Rock Albums and Top Latin Albums chart categories.
Overall sales for the year are still down by 6% from 2005 with 344 million albums sold
