Bob Dylan is on top of the U.S. album chart for the first time in 30 years. It's the first time since 1976 when he put out "Desire." In the first week he sold 192,000 albums in the U.S. This is his highest total since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking in 1991.
Dylan has now had three straight top 10 offerings. Along with "Modern Times," he also had "Time Out of Mind" in 1997 and "Love & Theft" in 2001.
This is amazing to see as it seems he doesn't lose any of his quality in his lyrics or ability to touch on any number of subjects with sincerity or humor. There are very few people that can be listed and put in the same category as Dylan over the same time period.
