After being humbled for the first time in 2-1/2 years last week by "Grey's Anatomy," "CSI Crime Scene Investigation" came roaring back with a victory on Thursday night.
They drew over 900,000 more than last weeks season opener to average 23.49 million viewers during the show. In contrast, "Grey's Anatomy" averaged 23.3 million for the night, down by 2.1 million,
according to Nielsen Media Research. They did win the 18-to-49 group though.
Now that all the preseason jockeying is over, we'll probably see a settling down into how the season will really play out for the rest of the year.
In another big battle, "Shark" beat out the usual winner "ER" on NBC. "Shark" took in 14.7 million viewers, while "ER" averaged 14.3 million.
For the night CBS finished in first for overall viewers and ABC won in the 18-to-49 age group.
