
In another terrible showing at the box office, frontrunner Gridiron Gang was able to take in only $15 million to take first place at the North American box office for the weekend. It was The Rock's slowest opening of any movie he has starred in.
Coming in second place was The Black Dahlia, selling an estimated $10.4 million. It opened in around 1,300 less theaters than Gridiron Gang, while they averaged $4,655 per showing, which is tops among the weekend movies.
Everyone's Hero was only able to bring in a little over $6 million as it ended up in third place.
The only company that was probably happy about all of this was Sony, as it has the tenth No. 1 opening of the year to set a new industry record.
