Filling in their vacant position of president of its international business, NBC Universal has said that it has plans to double its current international revenue over the next several years.
After announcing that Peter Smith has been chosen the vacant position, Smith told the Financial Times: "It would be nice to see the business double in size over the next three or four years, but we've not put a specific target on it. The brief is to come up with opportunities to grow the international business at a quicker pace than it is currently growing, and then articulate that to the rest of the
group,"
NBC's CEO Bob Wright has said recently that they were looking for more growth outside the U.S. They are looking for new outlets for their popular channels as well as looking to acquire other companies or initiate the right joint ventures.
