I'm not sure about this as a career move, but David Bowie has joined "the cast of the popular underwater cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants for a guest appearance," according to Reuters.
"It's happened. At last. I've hit the Holy Grail of animation gigs," Bowie said on his Web site blog, "My character in this special longform (I think a half hour special) show is called 'Lord Royal Highness'. Alrighteee!! It won't air unfortunately for another eight or nine months but then, watch out."
Bowie went on to joke that with this gig on the calender that "nothing else need happen this year, well, this week anyway."
Bowie, who is married to model Iman, together have a daughter, Alexandria, who is six-years-old. If nothing else I think she will enjoy seeing her dad working with SpongeBob on Nickelodeon.
