After ten years, Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puffy, or whatever you want to call him, has resurfaced with a number one opening album this week, "Press Play." It opened up with around 170,000 CDs sold, the first No. 1 album about 10 years.
"I didn't just talk about bling bling and how much money I had, it was more about going in deeper, talking about relationships and love and all of the stages of love."
Included on the album are guests Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, among others. The album has received more critical acclaim than any other project he's done.
He said he will continually center on his music and has a tour lined up to begin sometime next year. He's trying to get the album to have a lot more longevity than the normal hip hop offerings, and will market a lot of the singles off of the album.
"I just went in to try and make some great music and music that will stand the test of time so the album will just keep getting stronger and more intense as time goes by, which is rare in hip hop," he said.
