"Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin's 8-year-old daughter Bindi, will be starring in a series she was working on with her dad at the time of his death by a stingray. Some people believe that she is being exploited over Steve's death.
It will be a 26-part series presented on the Discovery Kids network called "Bindi, the Jungle Girl."
Some critics believe she is being thrown into the limelight far too soon after her father's death; being concerned that she won't grow up as a normal child.
A spokeswoman for Discovery, Annie Howell said, "After his death Terri had to make a decision. Did she want Bindi to continue working? Did she want her to continue doing this show? And she really left it up to Bindi, with her guidance of course."
She recently appeared on Australian television with the confirmation that she wanted to continue on with her father's legacy.
When you really think of this though, it sounds right at first, but this is an eight-year-old child taking this type of burden upon herself. It sound too adultish to me. A child of eight shouldn't be concerned about carrying the torch of the legacy of her father.
How do you think this should be handled?
