Rumor is that Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake may be getting together for the first time since the "malfunction." The take is that they are being sought to appear together in "some sort of big, live show like the Grammys or the Oscars".
People are already buzzing that it is "the ultimate publicity stunt."
The real reason it will happen if the story is true? Two words: Album sales. With their new offerings about to slow down, it would give them a quick, strong boost and keep the music going for a lot longer.
Jackson has said that she hasn't had any communication with Timberlake since the 2004 Superbowl.
She said: "We haven't spoken but I consider him a friend, and I'm very loyal, and friendship is very important to me.
"He has reached out to speak with me. Like I said, friendship is very important to me - and certain things you just don't do to friends. In my own time, I'll give him a call."
I'm sure that the time they are scheduled for an appearance together will be a highly rated slot for whatever event they are hired for. I think there will have to be some making up to do; assuming she is really mad at him. As we all know, even that can be a drama written by their publicists.
