Time Warner (TWX) is the new media company to start throwing its weight around in response to Google's buyout of YouTube earlier this week. CEO Dick Parsons is publicly telling everyone about the Time Warner clips being currently displayed by YouTube.
He announced in The Guardian that "If you let one thing ignore your rights as an owner it makes it much more difficult to defend those rights when the next guy comes along."
This is probably a way of saying that they want to be a part of the action and YouTube needs to get in contact with them to negotiate.
With Google (GOOG) owning a piece of Time Warner's AOL, it's hard to believe that they will begin suing and fighting in court.
We saw one of the most critical leaders of the mainstream media concerning online companies come into the fold not long after they did some of their public negotiations through the press. This probably means we'll be seeing a deal being announced soon between the two.
