Hired recently as the co-artistic directors of the top Sydney theater company, Cate Blanchett and her playwright husband, Andrew Upton, will make this their full-time job. They will begin their stint at the Sydney Theater Company in January of 2008.
Blanchett said: "The acceptance for the role of co-artistic director of this company is not a dalliance, It's an absolutely firm commitment, and it is not one that Andrew nor myself have made lightly."
She did add that her and her husband had set aside three months out of the year to get involved with other projects if they want to.
The couple, who have two young children, will be involved with acting, writing and guiding its programming.
