
With advertising rates and profits on the line, CBS, with its solid prime-time schedule, came in No. 1 for the first week of the November sweeps. The finished with an average of 12.8 million viewers per hour of prime time, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The highly anticipated Sunday night football game between Indianapolis and New England, helped NBC, as it brought in almost 22 million viewers, and they stayed there as "Desperate Housewives" finished it up with 22.6 million viewers, which made them the No. 1 show for the week.
Fox was probably concerned as their formerly popular show "The O.C.," finished its season premiere with only 3.4 million people watching, to end up in the 98th spot for the week.
