
Kenny Chesney won the entertainer of the year award at the 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards last night (Nov. 6) in Nashville.

Responding to the honor, which he also won two years ago, Chesney said:
"This year has in ways been the most emotionally satisfying year and also the most emotionally draining year of my life, there have been so many ups and downs, it's been like a huge emotional roller coaster ride." A lot of that was the embarrassing and public marriage and divorce from actress Renee Zellweger.
Brooks & Dunn won big with their inspirational hit "Believe," which took in three awards alone; music video of the year, single of the year and song of the year.

Former "Amercan Idol" winner Carrie Underwood took in two awards, one for female focalist of the year and the Horizon Award.

Also taking in two awards was Brad Paisley, one for album of the year for "Time Well Wasted,"

and the other for musical event of the year with Dolly Parton, for their song "When I Get Where I'm Going."
