The promised layoffs by NBC News are beginning to happen as they are getting rid of, for the most part, off-camera workers on "Dateline NBC," "Today" and "NBC Nightly News."
The layoffs are in response to the announcement made in October that NBC Universal was going to drop 700 jobs.
NBC News spokeswoman Allison Gollust said: "This is the culmination of exactly what we announced we would do last month."
At this point of the process, the only on-camera workers cut have been "Dateline NBC" correspondents Edie Magnus and Rob Stafford.
The largest cuts are taking place at its newsmagazine, with between 15 and 20 workers being let go. The majority of cuts aren't connected to any one show of the network.
