
In an endeavor to blend entertainment and psychology, the result has become Psych TV, the creation of Terence McPhaul, also the author behind “The Psychology of Hip Hop”, “The Celebrity Psyche”, and Mental Health Therapist to the stars.
The cable television offering will offer programming only connected to psychological matters, according to their press release.
They claim: "The network’s unique approach combines quality educational programs that will be equally entertaining. Viewers will be entertained while they receive information, making learning on various social and psychological subjects much easier."
“We are working hard to make PsychTV a billion dollar entity by 2012, and it will be essential to set and maintain our course consistently.” McPhaul adds, “in order for PsychTV to take its place at the top of the heap with other cable networks, PsychTV must remain innovative with regard to quality programming, paying special attention to the masses and what they desire, while at the same time remaining effective in our marketing and ability to develop good partnerships.”
With self-help being one of the most popular areas of interest by people, if this is done right, it could be a very successful network. After all, the great majority of self-help material is based upon the psychology behind it.
