Speaking out at the International Emmy's directors meeting in New York on Monday, Steven Spielberg took tv studios to task for exposing children what he called gruesome shows.
His main concern that he told producers they needed to be cautious with was the graphic trailers that are shown to children ... such as "blood and people being dissected" for forensic drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
He argued that as a parent he is concerned about tv studios needing to take more responsibility for not just their own children, but for the children of others as well.
Citing the tremendous influence that televison has on people, he said that what is put into the box will change the world, whether it is for the better or the worse.
It's good to see someone with some sense in the industry understanding the many concerns that people have that are rarely represented or addressed.
