
The international division of The Walt Disney Company (DIS), Buena Vista International Television, has come to an agreement with Rogers Cable of Canada in a multi-year deal offering video on demand to their customers.
BVITV's Orest Olijnyk, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, Canada said, "We're delighted to conclude our first VOD agreement in Canada, and to be working with Rogers to bring this wide selection of hit movie content to their customers in flexible, and importantly legitimate and secure, new ways."
David Purdy, Vice-President and General Manager Television Services for Rogers Cable added, "We are excited to be the first Canadian cable company to bring Disney content to our customers on Demand. We know the programming will be a hit with the whole family and we are pleased to offer it just in time for the holiday season."
The agreement allows Rogers customers to purchase on demand movies of Disney's new releases and library through Rogers Personal TV customers with digital boxes in Ontario.
