In a deal reported by the Wall Street Journal, European private-equity group Permira, has made a bid for music company EMI Group PLC for an estimated $3.9 billion. While the deal hasn't been completed yet, the sides are said to be close.
The Journal added that things could still disintegrate and no deal be made. Things are still up in the air and it wasn't known if other private-equity partnerships were
going to join Permira in the bid.
The negotiations have been going on for about a month for the British music firm, as reports circulated that they had been approached by a private equity company, and that the company was Permira.
