George Clooney has partnered with Warner Bros.' (TWX) to purchase the rights to John Grisham's first nonfiction book, "The Innocent Man."
While the exact terms of the deal weren't disclosed, it reportedly paid Grisham something in the seven-figure range, and also includes a percentage of the film sales if it is released.
Clooney's company, Smoke House, will be the producer of the film. A Warner spokeswoman said that there is no deal yet for Clooney to direct or star in "The Innocent Man." Smoke House has a first-look deal with Warner for developing or producing movies with the studio.
Grisham has had a string of his novels that have been made into movies including "The Firm," "The Pelican Brief," "The Client" and "Runaway Jury."
