
With movie production having a temporary slowdown in Louisiana as a consequence of "Katrina," it is now coming back with a vengeance as numerous projects are underway across the state.
The latest film to get going is "Microwave Park," starring Robert De Niro and 50 Cent. It was originally reported as being named "New Orleans" by the Hollywood Reporter. Shooting for some of the movie has already taken place in Shreveport.
While a number of states are increasing their perks to compete with Louisiana, they are still one of the better places to shoot for now. They offer a 25% tax credit on all things that are connected with film-related products or services purchased in Louisiana.
If studios hire Louisiana residents, they also get a 10 percent tax labor credit on wages.

2004: $355 million
2005: $640 million
2006: $620 million
