Viacom Inc.'s (VIA) Nickelodeon network scored the highest ratings of the week, according to data supplied by Nielsen Media Research.
Actually the network is treated as separate from teh Nick at Nite programming period, which was the second place finisher for the week, so overall they were considered the top two networks. The Nickelodeon network averaged 2.07 million viewers at any one time last week, while Nick at Nite averaged 1.36 million.
The Walt Disney Co. (DIS) came in behind Nickelodeon for third place with an average of 1.38 average.
The reason Disney shows lower in spite of a higher average is because Nielsen
used household viewership numbers rather than individual viewers. Otherwise they would have finished slightly above Nick at Night for the week.
Time Warner's (TWX) TNT network followed with an average of 1.3 million viewers each day. NBC Universal's (GE) USA Network came was next with a 1.17 million daily viewer average.
