
Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television entered into an agreement with TNT to take the Stephen King-Peter Straub novel "The Talisman" and bring it to the small screen.
The novel which was originally published in 1984, has been given the ok to proceed, and will be presented as a six-hour series on the network. The series is planned on premiering in the summer of 2008.
Spielberg will be executive producer along with partner Kathleen Kennedy. Ehren
Kruger ("The Ring"), will do the adaptation of the novel.
Michael Wright, senior vp original programming at TNT and TBS, said, "It's a fantastic adventure, it's scary, it's full of wonder, I can't stress enough that I'm so pleased to be working with these people (again). All of us had a really fantastic experience working together on 'Into the West' both creatively and in terms of the show's reception."
