Turner Broadcasting System announced on Thursday that they are acquiring seven pay TV networks operating throughout Latin America.
They are buying them from Claxson Interactive Group Inc. (XSONF.PK) for a reported $235 million, increasing its Spanish-language programming holdings.
The portfolio will represent 13 wholly owned TV networks, along with 10 represented networks. The networks bought are HTV, Space, Fashion TV, I.Sat, MuchMusic, Retro and Infinito.
The group of networks reach about 51 million subscribers across Latin America, 
this extends Turner's reach to 85 million overall. They will be operated by Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, according to the company.
Turner Broadcasting System is a division of Timer Warner Inc. (TWX).
