
Several new shows were picked up by the networks recently, including two by Fox (NWS-A). One called "K-Ville," is set in the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans. It's scripted by Jonathan Lisco (NYPD Blue) who also will be the executive producer.
The other is a medical drama called "The Cure," which will have Akiva Goldman as the executive producer. Writers for the show are John Zinman and Patrick Massett. Its focus will be upon a group of medical workers cutting through red tape to get medical help for those in need.
For CBS (CBS), they gone with a new offering "22 Birthdays," centered around wealthy people living in Los Angeles who get together to throw birthday parties for their children. Doug Liman will be the executive producer of the show, and is
written by Bill Oakley, Josh Weinstein (Futurama) and Peter Noah (The West Wing).
NBC (GE) has gone the comedy route going with "The Mastersons of Manhattan," concerning two wealthy sisters from New York. The writer for the show will be Gary Janetti.
