The Leichtman Research Group discovered that with a little over two years to go, one of of every six households in the U.S. have an HDTV, some have more than one. Two years ago those numbers were one in every fourteen households.
The research also revealed that the vast majority of those buying HDTVs had annual income 42% over the average U.S. household. Of those with incomes under
$50,000, only 7 percent of households have an HDTV, while those making over $50,000, 26 percent now own one.
Most of the U.S. population has heard of HDTV, 92 percent, only 33 percent know about the change to digital television set for February 17, 2009.

If I'm a marketer, I realize I'm not just selling to new customers. I'm selling to a lot of existing customers."
What is interesting to me on the television side will be if it will have an effect upon viewership in the early days if people are slow to adopt the televisions, or if there'll be a rush as people learn about the change the closer it gets?
