Starting this Sunday, Sean Hannity, one of the stars of the popular "Hannity & Colmes" show on Fox, has been given his own weekly, hourly show called "Hannity's America." The show will be broadcast live, and will be a little of the debate style offered on the "Hannity & Colmes" show, and more. Hannity will continue on with his other shows including H&C and his daily radio broadcast.
"We love what we're doing with 'Hannity & Colmes' -- we're really happy," Hannity said. "It's the second-highest-rated show on cable. It's just that for a long time I've wanted to branch out and do a couple of other things, and an opportunity has come up."
Hannity also said that while there will be a debate portion to the show it will not be all that's going on. Included will be a correspondent from Fox News that will report on specific stories targeted for that week. The reporter will be able to go much deeper into the story and tell it from a behind the scenes perspective.
He will be adding a feature to the show that is also a consistent part of his radio broadcast in his talking about and showcasing "great Americans." He's talking more about people doing great things that rarely get noticed or reported on.
The first show should be entertaining with a lot of sparks flying as he will take on Cindy Sheehan on the Iraq War, and will also do an interview with "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck concerning the Rosie O'Donnell-Donald Trump feud. It should be pretty lively and fun to watch.
The concept sounds fresh. It will be interesting to see if Hannity can carry the show on his own. His true popularity should be tested here. It won't take long to see if it will work.
