With the public having a seemingly insatiable appetite for comedy, Showtime has announced that it is launching a new comedy platform called, "Laugh Out Loud." It will include monthly comedy from a number of well known comedians and comediennes such as Mo'Nique, Sarah Silverman, Alex Reymundo, and Joe Rogan.
The shows will be in the Showtime tradition of being uncensored and uncut. It starts off today with comedians that perform using ethnic comedy to get people laughing.
Mo'Nique will premiere her new show "I Coulda Been Your Cellmate," performed before a live audience in the Ohio Reformatory For Women. She mingles among the inmates in addition to her regular performance.
Alex Reymundo will premiere his new routine in March called "Hick-Spanic: Live in Albuquerque." It deals with a lot of the issues that surround growing up in America as a Mexican immigrant family.
In February, Sarah Silverman will offer her "Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic." Silverman is Jewish. Anyone who's heard her knows that she can be extremely controversial and abrasive, as one writer says.
It sounds like quite a roster of performances that they're offering. It should draw well.
