Things were fun in Hollywood today! Two of the top Hollywood agents, who represent highly-ranked directors and writers in both film and television, jumped ship from International Creative Management, to rival Endeavor.
Once the announcement was made, all hell broke loose as both companies scrambled all over the place to try to attract new clients, while fighting to keep
their own.
This is really a big hit to ICM, as they were getting ready to launch a comprehensive expansion strategy, specifically connected to its acquisition of television agency Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann.
The two departees were Rober Newman and Matt Solo, former head of the ICM television literary department. They have both been made partners at Endeavor. Newman is one of the most highly respected agents for filmmakers in the industry.
Leaving ICM after 17 years “is the hardest decision I’ve made in my life,” Newman said. “They gave me my start in the business. I’m honored to be asked to join Endeavor, and do that with confidence that they have the greatest resources and opportunities.”
