In the continuing search to find new artists, the talent company United Talent Agency has launched a channel on the Internet video service Veoh Networks for a way to discover new clients. UTA represents Hollywood heavyweights like Ben Stiller and Harrison Ford.
Veoh is a company that has backing from Time Warner (TWX) and former Disney (DIS) CEO Michael Eisner.
What UTA is doing with their new channel is hosting material from amateur fimmakers who upload their material to see if it's they're someone that the agencies want to represent. Their competitor Creative Artists Agency has had a deal in place since last year with another online video service Revver.
Brent Weinstein, UTA's head of digital media, said "We have received thousands of submissions since UTAO was announced, This partnership with Veoh enables us to create a structured, standardized and legally sound mechanism for aggregating
and reviewing unsolicited submissions."
The company will also use the service to promote its existing clients.
