The highly anticipated launch of the Apple (AAPL) TV has been put off till next month, although the company gave no reason why that happened.
In January the company said that the set-top box would be ready to go in February with a price tag of $299 for each unit.
"Wrapping up Apple TV is taking a few weeks longer than we projected, and we now expect to begin shipments mid-March," Apple spokeswoman Lynn Fox said.
Many people believe this will be the final piece of the puzzle that could really make a difference in causing the download video space to explode. The device will empower users to stream video from their computer to the TV screen, and is expected to go to the front of the increasing number of products offering this
capability.
Assuming the product continues in the simplicity of use that Apple usually offers, and works as marketed, this could be another huge hit for Apple's string of product hits that have made the company a household name.
