According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Celine Dion will be introducing her new song "I Knew I Loved You," at the Academy Awards this year. The song will be sung during a tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
Morricone is set to receive an honorary Oscar at the award ceremony on February 25. He has been nominated for Oscar's in the original score category for "The Mission," "The Untouchables," "Malena," "Bugsy" and "Days of Heaven."
The buzz is that "songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman wanted to write lyrics for the song, but the film's producers felt none were needed. The Bergmans got their chance with Dion's version."
The song will appear on Morricone's soon-to-be-released greatest-hits album as well as Dion's upcoming record.
