The battle between Turner Broadcasting and Dish Network has finally come to an end, as Court Tv has now been put back in the homes it was blacked out of since Jan. 1, when the two couldn't agree to terms on continuing carriage. The fight was over how much Dish Network would pay Turner to offer the network.
There was pressure to get the deal done because there were ratings that were guaranteed to advertisers that could have further aggravated the whole situation, which were originally worked out based upon 86 million homes.
Now that the agreement has been reached, the channel will be placed in its former position before the blackout.
Part of the battle between Turner and Dish is that Dish felt that a 70 percent increase in rights fees was far too much, while Turner responded by saying that Dish was paying less than the standard industry rate.
Yet this has been a pretty mild dispute compared to some of the bloody carriage battles that have been fought through the media lately.
